Permanent Observer of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization presents credentials

VIENNA, 19 April (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Observer of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) to the United Nations (Vienna), Chin-Min Lee, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career Mr. Lee, who is the Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of AfoCO, has served in various capacities, among them:

Member of Advisory Roundtable of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO), Seoul (present); Advisor to the International Resilience Centre of the Korea University (present); Special Advisor to the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria (2000-2018); Special Representative of the World Health Organization Director-General to the United Nations and other international organizations, and the Director of WHO in Vienna (1995-1999); worked for the World Health Organization (WHO) for over three decades in various capacities at different duty stations, such as Port Moresby, Manila, New York and Geneva.

Mr. Lee studied Diplomacy and English Language at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Organizational Management at the Konkuk University Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul. Mr. Lee further studied Management Development at the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, and International Studies at the New York University.
