Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan presents credentials

VIENNA, 2 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan, Rovshan Sadigbayli, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career Mr. Sadigbayli, who is also Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and other international organizations in Vienna, has served in various capacities, among them:

Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy in Austria (2020-2021); Counsellor, Embassy in Austria (2016-2019); Deputy Head of the Regional Security Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2016); Head of Division, Regional Security Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2015); First Secretary, Second Secretary, Embassy in the United States (2010-2013); Second Secretary, Third Secretary, Foreign Policy Planning and Strategic Studies Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006-2009); and Lead Specialist, International Relations Department, Ministry of Education (2002-2006).

Mr. Sadigbayli holds a Master’s Degree in Education Policy, Research and Administration from the University of Massachusetts, United States, a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Bilkent University, Turkey and a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Baku State University.  

Mr. Sadigbayli speaks English, French and Russian.

He is married and has one son.
