Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

VIENNA, 8 January (UN Information Service) – This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that two people who work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the VIC tested positive for SARS CoV-2. There was no workplace exposure.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the VIC-based organizations is 192, of whom 160 work at the VIC. Of the total of 192 personnel, 178 have recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
