Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

VIENNA, 29 January (UN Information Service) – This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that two people who work at the VIC tested positive for SARS CoV-2.

One person works for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the other for the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV/UNODC). There was no workplace exposure.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the VIC-based organizations is 221, of whom 185 work at the VIC. Of the total of 221 personnel, 200 have recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
