VIENNA, 27 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations (Vienna), Hemra Amannazarov, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Amannazarov, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Director, Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019-2022); First Secretary, Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (2016-2019); First Secretary, Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva (2011-2016); Second Secretary, Americas Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2011); and Junior, then Senior Specialist, Turkmen Gas (2005-2008).
Mr. Amannazarov graduated as an oil and gas engineer from the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute.
He speaks English and Russian.
Mr. Amannazarov is married and has two children.
