VIENNA, 13 July (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations (Vienna), Vasco Mushe Samupofu presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Samupofu has served in various capacities, among them:
Counsellor/Deputy Head of Mission, High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa (2019-present); Deputy Director, Head of Regional Organizations, Department of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (2016-2018); Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Namibia to the United Nations (2012-2016); Chief Foreign Relations Officer, Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (2011-2012); First Secretary, Embassy in Cairo, Egypt (2007-2011); and First Secretary, Embassy in Washington, D.C., United States (1999-2003).
Mr. Samupofu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of Namibia and a diploma in Diplomatic Practice from the Indian Institute of Foreign Services.
Mr. Samupofu speaks English, Silozi and Shiyeyi.
