VIENNA, 11 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations (Vienna), Mohamed Ibrahim Nasr, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Nasr has served in various capacities, among them:
Director, Department of Climate, Environment and Sustainable Development (2021-present); Ambassador to Somalia (2019-2021); Desk Officer, Office of the Deputy Assistant Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development (2016-2019); Counselor, Mission of Egypt to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva (2012-2016); First Secretary, Office of Deputy Assistant Minister of Environment (2008-2012); Vice Consul, Consulate General, Sydney, Australia (2005-2008); Desk Officer, Office of Deputy Assistant Minister for South Asian Affairs (2004-2005); First Officer, Embassy in Lome, Togo (2000-2004); Desk Officer, Department of Japan and Korean Affairs (1999-2000).
Mr. Nasr is also Board Member of the Loss and Damage Fund and was the Lead Negotiator for the Climate Change COP27 Presidency team.
Mr. Nasr holds a Master’s Degree in international business administration from ESLSCA and a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from Cairo University, Egypt.
