VIENNA, 19 December (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations (Vienna), Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Alomatu Osei-Agyeman has served in various capacities among them:
Deputy Head of Mission/Head of Chancery, Embassy in Rome (2023-2024); Director, Europe Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration (2021-2023); Director, Candidatures Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration (2021); Head of Chancery, Ghana High Commission in London (2017-2020); Minister Plenipotentiary for Political, Economic & Diaspora Affairs, Ghana High Commission in Valletta, Malta (2016-2017); Deputy Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration (2013-2016); Economic Counsellor & Minister-Counsellor/Head of Chancery, Embassy in Washington D.C., United States (2008-2012); Personal Assistant, Office of the Chief Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2008); Assistant Director of the Multilateral Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006-2007); First Secretary/Head of Chancery, Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations Offices in Geneva and Vienna (2002-2006); and Assistant Director, Information, Culture & Linguistic Bureau, Policy Planning & Research Bureau, Americas Bureau (1999-2002).
Mrs. Alomatu Osei-Agyeman holds a Master’s degree in international affairs from the University of Ghana in Legon and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Ghana in Legon.
She speaks English and French.
