VIENNA, 24 January (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations (Vienna), María Eugenia Echeverría, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Echeverría has served in various capacities, including at the Permanent Mission of Peru to the International Organizations in Geneva; at the Mission to the European Union; at the embassy in Morocco and as Ambassador of Peru to Romania (resident), Croatia, Moldova, North Macedonia and Montenegro. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Echeverría worked at the Directorate of Political Affairs, the Department of International Economic Policy, the Directorates of Economic Promotion, of International Economic Organizations and of Social Affairs, as Director of International Cooperation and as Director General of Economic Affairs.
Ms. Echeverría holds a Master’s Degree in history and international politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland and a Bachelor’s Degree in international relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru.
She speaks English, French, German and Spanish.
