The ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) – COSP9 - will be opening in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt,on 13 December 2021. A wide range of topics will be discussed at the conference including recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic with integrity, preventing and combating corruption and the way forward following the UN General Assembly Special Session against Corruption in June this year.
The United Nations Convention against Corruption is the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument. Every two years the States Parties to the Convention meet to review the implementation of the Convention and discuss ways to improve cooperation between States parties to achieve the Convention’s objectives. Around 2,700 people, including many high-level participants, are expected to attend in Egypt or online, from governments, regional and intergovernmental organizations, and civil society.

An FFP2 or a KN95 mask must be worn at all times inside the Conference venue, except when delivering statements or while drinking/eating
Media representatives will be requested to complete contact tracing sheets for each meeting they attend during the Conference and include the following information: the full name, country or organization and contact information, including email, phone number, hotel name and room number.
In case of acute symptoms, suggestive of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, loss of sense of smell or taste during the meeting, participants shall immediately contact one of the two medical clinics on-site, where they will be assessed, tested and referred for treatment (as well as transferred, if necessary).
