VIENNA, 26 May (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations (Vienna), Stephen Mubiru, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Mubiru has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador to Germany (2022-present); Ambassador to Turkey (2017-2022); Ambassador to Malaysia (2012-2017); District Chairperson, Kamuli District, Uganda (2007-2011); Member of the Executive Council (Secretary for Mobilization) for Eastern and Southern Africa Small Scale Farmers Forum (ESAFF) (2003-2007); Chairman, Uganda Small Scale Farmers' Forum (2002-2007); Speaker, Kamuli District Council (1998-2005); Coordinator, Namwendwa Dairy Farmers' Association (1997-present); Assistant Farm Manager, Kasolwe Livestock Farm (1994-1997); Animal Husbandry Officer, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (1993-1994); and Veterinary Assistant, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (1989-1991).
Mr. Mubiru holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Production from Busoga University, Uganda.
Mr. Mubiru speaks English, Luganda, Lusoga and Swahili.
He is married and has six children.

During its 137th session, the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) monitored countries’ implementation of the three international drug control conventions and reviewed the functioning of the international drug control system for the licit trade in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursor chemicals.
