VIENNA, 12 October (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations (Vienna), David Roet, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Roet, who is also Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and other international organizations in Vienna except the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, has served in various capacities, among them:
Deputy Director General and Head of the North America Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019-present); Head of the North American Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018); Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative at Israel's Mission to the United Nations in New York, United States (2013-2017); Responsible for the Bureau for Personnel Training, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2013); Director of the US Consulate Department, North American Affairs Division (2004-2010); Deputy Consul General, at Israel’s Consulate General to the Midwest in Chicago, United States (1999-2004); Political Counsellor, South East Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-1999) and First Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs, Seoul, Korea (1992-1996)
Mr. Roet holds a Master's degree in economics and business administration from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a Bachelor's degree in economics and business administration. He is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education programme.
