VIENNA, 23 November (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations (Vienna), Matota Rallage Kulatilaka Lenagala, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Lenagala, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Additional Secretary (Multilateral Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Personal Assistant to four Ministers of Foreign Affairs; Deputy High Commissioner at High Commissions in London (2010) and in New Delhi (2014); Director General, UN and Human Rights Divisions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and served at the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York.
Mr. Lengala holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of international relations degree from the University of Colombo. He is also an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
