VIENNA, 11 May (UN Information Service) - The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) has elected Professor Jallal Toufiq as its President at its 137th session.
INCB commenced its 137th session on 8 May with a meeting of its Standing Committee on Estimates, which reviewed national estimates of requirements for controlled substances for medical, scientific and industrial purposes.
On 10 May, the Board elected Professor Jallal Toufiq as its President and elected a new Bureau for a one-year term.

The outgoing president, Jagjit Pavadia, congratulated Professor Jallal Toufiq on his election and thanked the Board and secretariat for their support over the past two years. She also thanked Member States and other partners for their cooperation during her tenure.
