Short Summary: The World Drug Report 2024 presents an overview of the current trends on global drug markets and includes the latest information on drug use, production, and trafficking. It also focuses on contemporary issues related to drugs, including cannabis legalization, the growing interest in psychedelics to treat mental health disorders, and the surge in cocaine supply and demand. The report includes special chapters on the impact of the opium ban in Afghanistan; synthetic drugs and gender; as well as how drug trafficking in the Golden Triangle is linked with other illicit activities and their impacts on the environment and communities.
