VIENNA, 3 March (UN Information Service) – Journalists are invited to cover the 68th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) to be held from 10-14 March 2025 in Vienna, Austria.
The 68th session will be chaired by Ambassador Shambhu S. Kumaran, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations in Vienna and will be opened by the Chair, the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Ghada Waly, and other high-level speakers.
The Commission on Narcotic Drugs will bring together participants from Member States, UN entities, inter-governmental organizations, civil society, and the scientific community to discuss and find solutions to the most pressing issues related to drugs, and to take stock of progress made in the implementation of international drug policy commitments.
In line with past practice, representatives of the scientific community, youth and civil society will address the Commission during the opening.

More than 180 side events and over 30 exhibitions will take place during the 68th session of the CND on various aspects of addressing and countering the world drug problem.

All plenary meetings of the sixty-eight session will be webcast on United Nations Web TV.
Media can follow the opening of the session online or in person on 10 March 2025 at 10.00 a.m. (CET).
Journalists are also invited to follow side events. The list of side events and their links will be posted on the website of the 68th CND closer to the start of the session.
Member States will make transcriptions and statements available to journalists at their own discretion.
