The tenth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption has concluded with the adoption of the resolution ‘Atlanta 2023: promoting integrity, accountability and transparency in fight against corruption’ and a clear message – the world needs to unite all of society to safeguard the rule of law and restore trust in institutions.
The impact of global crises has already taken a severe toll on progress towards reaching the 17 Global Goals by the end of the decade. As the world passes the halfway mark to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, tackling corruption is a vital part of the action needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

In the fight against climate change, billions of dollars are being invested worldwide in measures to mitigate its negative impacts and help societies adapt to its consequences. Whenever large sums of money are involved, there is a heightened risk of funds being lost due to corruption.
Private sector engagement in the fight against corruption is critical in promoting economic development, ensuring fair and safe markets and the overall well-being of societies. By embracing ethical business practices, complying with anti-corruption laws and demonstrating a commitment to business integrity, the private sector can be an important driver to inspire and support positive change.

The United Nations conference taking place in Atlanta is an important milestone in reviewing the implementation of global anti-corruption commitments because it coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the UN Convention against Corruption and is the first such event to take place in the United States.
Governments, international organizations, civil society, youth, and the private sector gathered in Vienna on Tuesday to mark the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).
Media is invited to join the event, including photo opportunity on 31 October 2023 from 10:00-12:00 hrs Vienna time.
Media accreditation opens for 10th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in Atlanta, Georgia, 11 to 15 December 2023.
Media representatives wishing to cover the conference are advised to apply for accreditation in advance through the United Nations INDICO platform.
Onsite registration at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta will be limited.
Facilities for the media including a media centre and a press briefing room will be available at the GWCC.
