Permanent Representative of Chile presents credentials

VIENNA, 16 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations (Vienna), Rodrigo Olsen Olivares, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career, Mr. Olsen Olivares has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador to Finland and non-resident Ambassador to Estonia (2020-2022); Director of the Environment and Ocean Affairs (2019-2020); Director of Asia Pacific (2018-2019); Diplomat, Embassy in Italy and Alternate Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy (2016-2017); Diplomat, Mission of Chile to the Organization of American States in Washington D.C., United States (2010-2015); Diplomat, Embassy in Spain (2004-2006); Diplomat, Embassy in Italy (1999-2000); and Diplomat, Embassy in Argentina (1995-1998).

Mr. Rodrigo Olsen Olivares holds a Master of Arts in international affairs from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Pontificia Universidad Católica of Valparaiso, Chile.

Mr. Rodrigo Olsen Olivares is married and has two sons.
