VIENNA, 13 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Finland to the United Nations (Vienna), Nina Vaskunlahti, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Vaskunlahti has served in various capacities, among them:
Under-Secretary of State for International Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019-present); Ambassador to India and Bangladesh (2016-2019); Ambassador to Türkiye (2012-2016); Director General, Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Ministry for Foreign Affairs; and Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation to the European Union (2004-2008).
Ms. Vaskunlahti holds a Master’s Degree in political sciences from the University of Turku, Finland.
