New Permanent Representative of Ireland presents credentials

VIENNA, 19 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations (Vienna), Barbara Cullinane, presented her credentials today to the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Dennis Thatchaichawalit.

During her career, Ms. Cullinane has served in various capacities among them:

Deputy Permanent Representative of Ireland to the European Union, Brussels (2021-2024); Director of Policy Coordination, Cabinet of the Minister for Foreign Affairs (2019-2021); Director of Strategy, Governance and Change, Department of Foreign Affairs (2017-2018); Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in London (2012-2017); Director of Thematic Sectors and Special Programmes, Development Cooperation Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (2009-2012); European Correspondent, Political Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (2009); Deputy Director of Conflict Resolution Unit, Political Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (2007-2009); Deputy Director of International Financial Institutions Unit, Department of Finance (2006-2007); Deputy Director of Africa Unit, Political Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (2003); First Secretary, UN Security Council Team and Third Secretary (Fifth Committee and Peacekeeping), Permanent Mission to the UN in New York (1999-2002); Third Secretary, Human Rights Unit, Political Division, Department of Foreign Affairs (1997-1999).

Ms. Cullinane holds a Master’s degree in business studies from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Trinity College Dublin.
